Restore The Land

My Philosophy

The principal that informs all of my work with the land is that we must give back as much of it as we can to our more-than-human kin.

Habitats have been fractured, developed, paved over, and turned into wastelands, leaving smaller and fewer spaces for the birds, insects, and animals we share this planet with.

We owe it to them to rebuild and restore wherever we can.

What we choose to do, even with a small patch of land, makes an enormous difference to a single bee looking for a safe place to live and good food to eat.

I am a certified permaculture designer, and I apply permaculture principles to all of my designs. I believe that when we work with nature instead of against it, true healing and transformation happens.

My services are consultation only - they are for people who want to get their hands in the earth and transform the land under their care. When I work with clients, my goal is to help them read the landscape, understand what it is saying, and gently guide it back to its vibrant, diverse natural state. I want my clients to come away feeling like confident stewards of the patch of earth they call home.

So, how does a design consultation work?

During our initial call, we’ll discuss the nature of your site, chat about what you’d like to achieve, and talk about steps you can take to bring it back to life. This can mean letting nature take the lead and making small adjustments where needed, or it can mean starting fresh by replacing an empty lawn with a thriving patch of native plants. We can figure it out together!

If you would like to continue working together after our call, I will put together a list of native plants specifically suited to your site, as well as full color planting maps for you to follow. My current design rate is $55/ hour - I will always give you an estimate of how long it will take me.

If you are ready to give your land back to the wild and restore your ecosystem, I’d love to help you.
